Chowking’s founder Roberto Fung Kuan dies at 70


Businessman Roberto Fung Kuan, founder of the Chinese style fast-food restaurant chain Chowking, passed away on Saturday at the age of 70.

"Today I bid goodbye to my father... Roberto Fung Kuan, born August 6, 1948. He joined the Lord today, 12:18pm September 15 at the age of 70," Kuan's son Robert Kelvin Kuan said in a Facebook post.

Kuan founded Chowking Food Corp. in 1985 and served as its president until 2000.

He also served as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. Luke's Medical Center. — Ted Cordero/MDM, GMA News
