Manila Water unit gets green light to service San Fabian, Pangasinan

A subsidiary of Ayala-led Manila Water Co. Inc. has secured a notice to proceed with the P742-million water and septage services in the town of San Fabian, Pangasinan.

The water concessionaire said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Manila Water Philippine Ventures Inc., received the notice from the Municipality of San Fabian, the company said in a regulatory filing submitted by compliance officer Darwin Mendoza.

The municipal government of San Fabian enacted Ordinance No. 19, Series of 2018, or “An Ordinance Granting Manila Water Philippine Ventures Inc. a Franchise to Establish, Construct, Operate, Manage, Repair, and Maintain Water Supply System and Facilities, and the Provision of Septage Management in the Municipality of San Fabian, Pangasinan,” the filing said.

The franchise carries a term of 25 years with an assumed billed volume of 12.6 million liters per day by the end of the franchise period, according to Manila Water.

The total capital expenditure for the projects is estimated at P742 million. The project is expected to be operational by 2019.
