DOLE takes in JobStreet.com as partner in tech-voc jobs site

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jobstreet.com covering a job site that caters to applicants seeking technical-vocational job opportunities.

The MOU was signed by Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III and Jobstreet.com country manager Philip A.Gioca.

“This partnership will definitely bolster and further the department’s mandate to provide decent, productive, and sustainable employment for our Filipino workforce, and create more areas of collaboration,” Bello said.

By logging on to JobXpress, jobseekers may easily look for blue-collar job openings in various companies across the country.

Some of the positions available on the website are waiters, cashiers, promodisers, service crew, fabricators, technicians, janitors, and factory workers.

For the benefit of applicants, information such as company name, number of vacant positions, work location, and monthly salary will be posted on the website.

The JobStreet-powered website is mainly in Filipino.

“Jobseekers with mobile data can now go job-hunting quickly and easily just by a few taps on their cellphones,” Bello said.

Employers may also create an account to post job ads.

The five-year partnership also tasked Jobstreet.com to provide DOLE with timely and accurate labor market information. —Dona Magsino/VDS, GMA News
