SSS pensioners to receive 13th month pay starting Nov. 29

Social Security System (SSS) pensioners will receive their 13th month bonus starting November 29, according to Maki Pulido's report on Balitanghali on Friday.

The bonus will be equal to the pensioner's regular monthly pension.

SSS has allocated some P22 billion for the 13th month bonus of its 2.4 million pensioners.

Though it remains financially stable, SSS said it is having a hard time coping with the P1,000 increase in the monthly pensions that started in January this year.

It said from January to September 2018, it gave P134 billion to its pensioners but it only received P127 billion from its members as contributions, or a deficit of P7 billion. —KBK, GMA News
