World Bank launches new knowledge development center in Iloilo


MANILA, Philippines - The World Bank launched a new knowledge development center (KDC) Friday at the Central Philippine University (CPU) in Jaro, Iloilo to provide access to information and promote research and discussion of development issues, a statement released by the bank read. KDCs are hubs established by the World Bank in partnership with leading state and private universities in key cities in the country that provide access to research and information on development issues for the government, private sector, NGOs, development agencies, students, media and the academe. The new knowledge hub in the CPU is the 11th KDC to be established in the country. The 10 other KDCs are located at Silliman University in Dumaguete, the University of San Carlos in Cebu, the University of Southeastern Philippines in Davao, Western Mindanao State University in Zamboanga, Notre Dame University in Cotabato, Saint Paul University in Tuguegarao, the Asian Institute of Management in Makati, Ateneo de Naga University, Palawan State University, and the World Bank Office in Pasig. — Louella D.
