Pinoy bread prices goes down on Harinang Pinoy


Prices of Pinoy Tasty and Pinoy Pa de Sal are going down starting Dec. 11 as flour millers introduce Harinang Pinoy to the market, the Department of Trade said Friday.
 
Pinoy Tasty now sells for P38.50 and Pinoy Pandesal for P23 per 10-piece pack.
 
Harinang Pinoy will be used to produce Pinoy Tasty and Pinoy Pandesal. It costs P750 per 25-kg bag compared with other flour brands that sell for P800 to P900  per bag, the department noted. 
 
Fortified with iron and Vitamin A, the flour will subsidize the local millers as part of their corporate social responsibility program.
 
The Trade Department has teamed up with the Chamber of Philippine Flour Millers, Philippine Association of Flour Millers,Philippine Federation of Bakers Associations Inc., Filipino Chinese Bakers Association, and Philippine Baking Industry Group to launch Harinang Pinoy.
 
Local flour millers will produce 20,000 to 30,000 bags of Harinang Pinoy to cover the production of  of 900,000 loaves of Pinoy Tasty and 2.7 million 10-piece packs of Pinoy Pandesal this December, the department said. — VS, GMA News
