FWD Life unveils dollar-denominated insurance, investment

FWD Life Philippines unveiled on Friday a dollar-denominated single-payment insurance protection and investment plan which allows planholders to tap into a portfolio of global equities.

The "US Dollar All Set Higher" plan lets investors take advantage of long-term growth potential of international economies.

“With a minimum investment of $20,000, 'US Dollar All Set Higher' offers access to a global portfolio of equity shares of top listed corporations across the world," FWD Life Philippines president and chief executive officer Peter Grimes said in a statement.

The placement will be invested in FWD’s new Global US Dollar Equity Index Fund, which provides access to portfolios of global corporations such as Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, Samsung, Alibaba, and Toyota.

"The strategy thus far has an annualized performance of 5.08 percent since 2000, with its five-year investment performance at 10.46 percent. During this period, the annual returns of the MSCI ACWI fluctuated between 22.80 percent (2013) and -2.36 percent (2015)," according to FWD.

All policy benefits from US Dollar All Set Higher are to be paid out in US dollars, the company noted.

"The plan brings the power of global investing closer to the Filipino and offers long-term growth potential with high potential returns at well-diversified risks," Grimes said. — Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
