Filipino holds exhibit in Norway, Iceland


Oslo, Norway – World-renowned Filipino artist Manuel D. Baldemor will hold an exhibit of his works in Reykjavik, Iceland, on Saturday, June 14, to mark the 110th year of Philippine independence. Baldemor also held his exhibit from June 2 to 4 at Norway’s Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs. The exhibit was dubbed "The Images of the Philippines and Norway." The exhibit marked 60 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Norway. Members of the diplomatic community and Filipinos in Norway attended the opening of the Oslo exhibit that coincided with the celebration of Norway’s Cultural Diversity 2008 program. Philippine Ambassador to Norway Victoria S. Bataclan said Mr. Baldemor is the “real ambassador" for his numerous exhibits that helped promote the Philippines abroad. Mr. Baldemor expressed his appreciation for his participation in the Cultural Diversity 2008 project.
