Taguig cops probe Maguindanao massacre suspect's death


Police in Taguig City have started their own investigation into the fatal fall of a suspect in the 2009 Maguindanao massacre from the rooftop of a detention center there. Taguig police head Senior Superintendent Tomas Apolinario ordered his men to work with jail guards on the death of PO2 Hernani Decipulo Jr., radio dzBB reported Thursday. Decipulo, one of the suspects facing multiple murder charges for the massacre, jumped from the fourth floor of his detention center in Camp Bagong Diwa Monday afternoon. Apolinario tasked the city police's criminal investigation division to handle the investigation. Meanwhile, Decipulo's remains arrived Tuesday afternoon in Datu Odin Sinsuat in Maguindanao, according to a report on MindaNews site. The MindaNews report said the crate containing Decipulo's body was immediately brought to the public cemetery in Barangay Gang, Sultan Kudarat town in Maguindanao for burial. At least 58 people, more than 30 of whom were media workers, were killed in the massacre in Ampatuan town in Maguindanao on Nov. 23, 2009. — LBG, GMA News
