Cops probe brutal Valenzuela City murder

Police are now pursuing leads in the brutal murder of a 43-year-old woman inside her house in Valenzuela City last weekend.

Valenzuela City police chief Senior Superintendent Wilben Mayor said they suspect the killer of Nerissa de Guia, 43, may have been known to the victim.

"So far ang ating unang theory, walang forced entry. (May) possibility baka kilala ng victim ang assailant," Mayor said in an interview on dzBB radio Wednesday.

He also said they are verifying information the killer had a key to the victim's house.

But he declined to comment further on other aspects of the crime, at least until they have "concrete evidence."

Mayor also declined to comment on whether de Guia was raped, saying the full results of the autopsy have yet to come out.

Earlier reports said de Guia's body was found naked and dead from at least 36 stab wounds in her house.

An initial investigation showed the victim was last seen alive while ironing clothes in her daughter’s bedroom at the ground floor of their house Saturday night. — RSJ, GMA News
