Maynilad: Accident disrupts water service to parts of southern NCR

An accident involving a main line has disrupted water services in parts of southern Metro Manila, water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services said Tuesday.

Maynilad corporate communications head Cherubim Ocampo-Mojica said the disruption may last until about 1 p.m., when the necessary repairs are completed.

"Kahapon ng hapon tinamaan ng DPWH [Department of Public Works and Highways] contractor ang main line sa West Service Road. Nagkaroon ng emergency leak repair," she said in an interview on dzBB radio.

She said Maynilad cut off water supply to some areas in southern Metro Manila at midnight, after giving residents a few hours to save and store water.

Among the areas that she said were affected by the incident were:

Barangay Villamor in Pasay City
Merville, Moonwalk, San Martin de Porres, Sun Valley, and parts of BF Homes in Parañaque City
Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3

Ocampo-Mojica said the water concessionaire has deployed water tankers to the affected areas.

"Malaki ang tubo na tinamaan. Aabutin kami hanggang 1 p.m. para maiayos ang tinamaan," she said. –KG, GMA News
