Holy Week schedule for LRT 1 and 2, MRT

The last trips for the Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 for Holy Week will be at 8 p.m. of Holy Wednesday, the LRT Authority said Tuesday.

LRTA spokesman Hernando Cabrera said that after the last trips, the LRT lines will be closed until March 31, Easter Sunday.

"Sarado po ang LRT 1 and 2 sa darating na 28 March hanggang 31 March 2013. Last trains mula sa lahat ng end stations sa 27 March 2013 ay 8:00 PM (LRT-1 and 2 stations will be closed March 28 to 31. The last trains for Holy Week will depart at 8 p.m.)," Hernandez said on his Twitter account.

A separate schedule posted on the LRTA website said the last commercial trip for LRT-1 from Baclaran and Roosevelt stations will leave at 8 p.m.

For the LRT-2, the last trips from Santolan and C.M. Recto Avenue stations will similarly leave at 8 p.m.

Earlier, Cabrera said the Holy Week break will give them the chance to conduct much-needed maintenance on the LRT facilities.

"Normal operations/revenue service will resume on Monday, April 1, 2013," the LRTA added.

"There will be no MRT operations as well from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday. Regular operating schedule to resume on April 1," it said.
