Fire authorities check Quezon City schools before classes begin

On the last weekday before the start of the school year, the Bureau of Fire Protection inspected schools in Quezon City to check their preparedness to deal with fires.

The BFP checked facilities in the schools such as fire extinguishers, fire exits and contingency plans, radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported.

Among the schools inspected as of Friday morning were the Ramon Magsaysay High School, Claret School, and P. Burgos Elementary School.

So far, the BFP indicated it was satisfied with the schools it had inspected.

The BFP also plans to check the facilities and plans in dormitories.

On Monday, students in the elementary and high school levels are expected to troop to schools to start School Year 2013-2014. - VVP, GMA News
