Bomb threat prompts inspection of predawn flight at NAIA

A bomb threat prompted an inspection of a predawn flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport before dawn Saturday, the Manila International Airport Authority said.

MIAA general manager Jose Angel Honrado said the phoned-in threat claimed a bomb was aboard a Japan-bound plane, radio dzBB reported.

Honrado said airport police and the Philippine National Police's Aviation Security Group had to inspect the plane and luggage on board.

The inspection turned up negative, Honrado said.

A separate dzBB report quoted Honrado as saying the threat did not affect the other scheduled flights at the NAIA.

The bomb threat came shortly after the NAIA Terminal 1 topped the list of the world's worst airports of the travel site "The Guide to Sleeping in Airports." — LBG, GMA News
