Number coding scheme lifted on Monday – MMDA

Motorists whose vehicle plate numbers end in 1 and 2 will get a free pass from the number coding scheme this Monday, when Filipinos go to polling centers to vote for their village officials.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Friday evening issued a reminder that the number coding scheme is lifted on Monday.

"REMINDER: The number coding scheme will be LIFTED (Metro Manila wide/all cities) on Monday, October 28, 2013," it said.

President Benigno Aquino III had declared Oct. 28 a special nonworking holiday nationwide to allow Filipinos to vote in the barangay elections.

Under the number coding scheme, vehicles are barred from major roads from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., depending on the last digit of their license plate numbers.
