LRT: No trips from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday

Citing the need to maintain its trains and facilities, the Light Rail Transit (LRT) is ending its commercial trips early on Holy Wednesday before going on a break until Easter Sunday.

The LRT Authority (LRTA) said the schedule, which it released Tuesday afternoon, is "in observance of the Lenten season and to give way for the annual scheduled maintenance" of the LRT Lines 1 and 2.

In a post on its Facebook page, the LRTA said there will be no operation from April 17 (Maundy Thursday) to 20 (Easter Sunday).

It also said its last trip on Holy Wednesday will be at 8 p.m. for the Line 1 (both Baclaran and Roosevelt) and Line 2 Santolan. The last trip of the LRT-2 from Recto will be at 8:30 p.m.

On ordinary weekdays, the LRT's last trip from Baclaran (LRT-1) and Santolan (LRT-2) is at 9:30 p.m., and the last trip from Roosevelt (LRT-1) and Recto (LRT-2) is at 10 p.m. [See schedule here.]
