Sidewalk vendors back in Baclaran after ASEAN Summit
Vendors along sidewalks in Baclaran, Parañaque City were back in the area before dawn on Wednesday, a week after authorities conducted clearing operations in time for the ASEAN Summit, a report on Unang Balita said.
The vendors positioned themselves around the Redemptorist Church in Baclaran to target churchgoers who will attend the First Wednesday Masses.
Devotees were seen arriving at the church as early as 4 a.m., GMA News' Mav Gonzales reported.
The first novena Mass was held at 5:30 a.m. and succeeding Masses will be held hourly until 7:30 p.m.
Vendors put up stalls along the side street beside the church and even in front of the church itself.

As a result, one to two lanes of the street could not be used by motorists.
Some of the vendors removed the stalls or moved to the side by 6 a.m. so as not to impede traffic. —KG, GMA News
