Plastic bag containing chopped-up body parts found in  Baseco

A plastic bag containing chopped-up head and body parts were found floating on Pasig River in Baseco Compound, Manila on Tuesday afternoon.

A report on Unang Balita on Wednesday said children discovered the plastic bag being carried by the river's current.

One of the residents said that coast guard personnel had confirmed that the garbage bag contained chopped-up body parts.

"May mga nanibak na bata, sabay nakita nila may ulo daw po. Inano ng Coast Guard, tinabi po. Sabay nakita po na ulo talaga yung laman," Baseco resident Rodolfo Serdoncillo said.

"Parang inaagnas na po eh, matagal na," he added.

When the garbage bag was opened, police authorities found the chopped off head wrapped in a blanket.

Internal organs and disjointed legs were also found inside the bag.

Senior Inspector Randy Veran, commander of the police community precinct in Baseco, said they have also found other parts floating in the same area following the plastic bag's discovery.

Veran said they have yet to determine if the latest discovered body parts belonged to the same victim, who has yet to be identified by policemen.

He urged people who have missing relatives to go to the Manila Police District Station 5's homicide division to identify the victim. —report from Mav Gonzales/Marlly Rome C. Bondoc/ALG, GMA News
