70 families lose homes in fire in Baseco
Some 70 families lost their homes after a fire engulfed a residential community in Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila, a report on Unang Balita on Monday said.
Thirty homes were razed by the fire that started at 1 p.m. Sunday, GMA News' Tricia Zafra reported.

The fire reached the fifth alarm before it was finally put out after three hours at 4 p.m.
F/CInsp. Marvin Carbonel, chief of operations of the Manila Fire Department, said the investigators are checking whether unattended appliances such as an electric fan caused the fire.
Residents hardly saved any item from their houses.
Affected residents were brought to the Corazon Aquino Memorial Center for temporary shelter. —KG, GMA News
