MMDA tows Aiko Melendez's car during clearing operation in QC

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday morning towed actress Aiko Melendez's car during a clearing operation in Quezon City.

A radio dzBB report said Melendez's vehicle was towed because it was allegedly parked illegally along Timog Avenue, near Scout Ybardolaza.

The report said at least 20 illegally parked vehicles in the "scout area" were also towed.

MMDA operations chief Bong Nebrija said they were determined to clear the scout area of road obstructions.

The MMDA is planning to open a "Scout Area bypass" that will be used as an alternate route for motorists who usually take EDSA going to the cities San Juan, Makati and Mandaluyong. —report from Allan Gatus/ALG, GMA News
