6 inmates escape in Laguna predawn jailbreak


Six inmates escaped from a police jail in San Pedro, Laguna, early Tuesday.

Superintendent Harold Depositar, chief of the San Pedro Police Station, said the six inmates escaped around 3 a.m.

Depositar said the six inmates were facing drug-related cases.

The inmates were identified as Benjo Gayod Lopena, Mark Joseph Varias Alviar, Jordan Mahusap Ibañez, Ed Nino Edwardo Lozada Hernandez, Rey Erenia Rodrigo, Arvin Lizarda.

The jailbreak was discovered by duty officers Police Officer 2 Jovencio Oiodo and Police Officer 3 Crisman Manabat

Depositar said the inmates escaped by cutting off the iron grills of their detention cell using a saw.

Depositar said policemen on duty at the time of the escape will face sanctions.

Manhunt operations are ongoing to recapture the inmates. —report from Glen Juego/ALG, GMA News
