Suspicious bag causes alarm in Quiapo


A suspicious package in Quiapo, Manila only contained clothes, a police official clarified on Tuesday night.

 

 

According to NCRPO Spokesperson Kimberly Molitas, the unattended package was reported to be seen by a concerned citizen along Quezon Boulevard.

The Explosive Ordinance Division - Manila Police District (EOD-MPD) immediately responded to the incident and conducted a "render safe procedure."

They have found out that the package only contained clothing.

In a report by Super Radyo dzBB's James Agustin, the incident happened past 8 p.m., causing fear and alarm among vendors in the area.

The vendors said they did not see who left the bag.

The explosion, which residents have heard in the area, were only part of the render safe procedure (RSP) done by the police.

At past 10 p.m., the vendors were allowed to go back to the area.

The incident came after the terrorist Maute Group took over a hospital in Marawi City. — BAP, GMA News
