PNP-SOSIA starts probe on security lapses in Resorts World attack

The Philippine National Police-Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies started Monday its probe on the attack at Resorts World Manila which resulted in the deaths of 38 people.

The PNP-SOSIA met the operations manager and security personnel of NC Lanting Security Specialist Agency which was hires to man the casino hotel.

The PNP asked the security agency for a copy of its security plan which the police organization believes was not implemented.

It also questioned why the security personnel were not in proper uniform and were wearing barong.

The operations manager of Lanting said they did not have firearms during the incident because their personnel were not in proper uniform.

The security agency said they have 68 personnel deployed during the incident.

The agency also said they were only tasked to man the perimeter of the establishment and not the casino as it is the in-house security tasked to man it.

It added that a female security personnel was assigned at the entrance as it was the preference of the Resorts World Manila management.

The investigation was ongoing as of posting time. — RSJ, GMA News
