Bulgarian out on bail nabbed in Quezon City for ATM cloning

Police arrested on Wednesday a Bulgarian after being caught with 15 cloned automated teller machine (ATM) cards in Quezon City.

Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar, chief of the Quezon City Police District, identified the suspect as Orlin Grozdanov Stoev.

Eleazar said a bank security guard noticed Stoev making multiple withdrawals from the ATM using several cards.

When accosted, the Bulgarian allegedly tried to escape.

The security guard called for police back up, who arrested the Bulgarian.

Seized from the suspect were 15 allegedly cloned ATM cards.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 8484 or Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998 will be filed against the suspect.

Police said the Bulgarian had been arrested for the same offense in 2016 in Bulacan, but was released on bail. —ALG, GMA News
