Pizza house employees in QC maul robber with AFP intelligence ID

Three pizza crew members overpowered an armed man before he could carry out his plan to hold up the joint in Quezon City Monday night.

Police identified the suspect as Ventura Ramirez, who had in his possession an ID of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP).

Police said Ramirez entered a pizza house along Kalayaan Avenue around 10 p.m. and declared a hold-up.

A quick-thinking service crew member who happened to be close by, however, was able to grab Ramirez's firearm.

The other crew members then fell on Ramirez and beat him up.

The suspect was later brought to the Quezon City Police District's Station 10, where policemen found the ISAFP ID in his bag.

Also found in the bag were a .45 pistol, several bullets and cash.

Policemen are verifying if the ID was authentic and if the suspect's gun was licensed. —report from Bam Alegre/ALG/KVD, GMA News
