4 armed men killed in shootout with QC cops

Four armed men were killed in a shootout with Quezon City police operatives before dawn Sunday.

An initial police report said that the four men engaged the the cops in a shootout along Road 11 in Barangay Balingasa at past 3 a.m. Police said that the four fatalities have remained unidentified.

Police Superintendent Robert Sales from the Quezon City Police Station 1 said that they received an information that four armed men were seen in the barangay, prompting them to respond.

The suspects, Sales said, opened fire at the responding lawmen upon their arrival in the area, sparking a firefight that left the four dead.

Recovered from the men were two cal-.45 handguns, one  cal-.38 pistol and one 9mm gun. Three sachets of suspected shabu were also recovered from the suspects.

Also, Sales said that the they received unconfirmed reports that the four were selling drugs in the area before the encounter.

No one witnessed that firefight as the encounter scene is far from residential areas. — LBG, GMA News
