Were his earphones on? Student dragged, killed by PNR train in Manila

A vocational school student was killed on Wednesday morning after he was hit by a Philippine National Railways train and dragged for almost a hundred meters.

According to Mark Zambrano's report on "24 Oras", the victim was identified as John Genesis Munsayac, a TESDA student who was on hiw way to school in Pritil, Tondo, Manila.

"Nasa ilalim siya e. Pero yung bag niya wala na. Yung gamit niya yung relos, cellphone doon nakuha saka ID. Nanggaling siya doon sa Firmeza," Kagawad Michael Pamintuan said.

Authorities are now conducting an investigation if Munsayac was wearing a headset.

The PNR will give P10,000 humanitarian assistance to the family of Munsayac.

The agency said Wednesday it is seeking government assistance to fund the fencing of its railways. —NB, GMA News
