Father hacks ‘ghost’ under daughter’s bed


A man who allegedly sneaked into a woman's room and and hid under her bed was hacked by her father in Valenzuela City.

According to Tricia Zafra's report on "24 Oras",  30-year-old Rose Ann Flor said she just finished taking a bath when she suddenly heard loud snoring in her room.

She said she was terrified as she thought it was a ghost. She later learned that a man sleeping under her bed.

"Natakot ako kasi akala ko baka may nagmu-multo. Napansin ko 'yung mga unan ko saka stuff toys nasa lapag po. Kinuha ko 'yung unan ko tapos nakita ko may... lalaki," Rose Ann said.

"Tapos tumakbo po ako, nagsisigaw na po ako. Ginawa ko po nilock ko po 'yung pintuan ko," she added.

Anacleto Flor Jr., Rose Ann's father, heard her screams and immediately got a bolo to attack Paulo Estrada, 35, and defend his daughter.

"Wala na... nag-aano na kong ganon, bahala na," Anacleto said.

Estrada, a tenant in the compound of Rose Ann's family for five years, was immediately brought to the Valenzuela Medical Center.

According to the initial probe of the police, Estrada entered the residence through the kitchen's window and went up to Rose Ann's room.

He allegedly hid under Rose Ann's bed and fell asleep as he was under the influence of alcohol.

Authorities also recovered a knife from the suspect.

"Hindi natin alam kung ano ang nasa isip niya dahil mukhang nakainom itong suspect natin. Kinausap ng imbestigador natin pero parang hindi pa ganon kaliwanag 'yung isip niya. Hindi pa niya alam bakit siya nandodoon sa ospital," said Police Senior Superintendent Ronaldo Mendoza.

Investigation is still ongoing on the incident as authorities have not yet established the motive of the suspect.

Meanwhile, Estrada will face complaints on trespassing and for bringing a knife inside Rose Ann's room. —Anna Felicia Bajo/NB, GMA News
