Pasay police identify suspect in Grab driver’s slay

Pasay City Police on Monday identified the suspect in the killing of Grab driver Gerardo Amolato Maquidato Jr.

According to a report on Super Radyo dzBB by Mao dela Cruz, the suspect was identified as Narc Tulod Delemios also known as "Miko."

The suspect was identified through the help of his live-in partner who coordinated with the Pasay City Police and admitted that her cellphone was used by Delemios to book a Grab car.

Delemios has a standing warrant of arrest for murder issued on February 3, 2015 by Judge Rolando How of Branch 257 of the Parañaque City Regional Trial Court.

Maquidato was killed on October 26 by men who posed as regular passengers along Bonanza Street in Pasay City.

Initial police reports said a witness heard a gunshot at around 7:50 p.m., then saw a lifeless man pushed out of a silver Toyota Innova. The suspects fled using their victim's vehicle.

Maquidato was earlier hailed as a "good Samaritan" for helping a passenger who underwent dialysis. His good deed story went viral and he also became one of the Grab driver awardees.

A certain Divine Lactao Ornum booked a GrabCar for her sister, Prima, who was on her way to Quezon City to pick up bags of blood for her dialysis. Maquidato picked her up but did not ask for payment for the trip out of kindness. —Marlly Rome Bondoc/KG, GMA News
