AWOL cop, 2 others nabbed in Malate drug bust

Three people, including a policeman, were arrested in a drug buy-bust in Malate, Manila early Saturday.

Police identified the suspects as Police Officer 1 Francisco Ylagan II, an AWOL cop; Nielsen Mosqueda, a tricycle driver; and Jessica Grace Cabrera, 20.

Chief Inspector Salvador Tangdol, chief of the Manila Police's Station 5, said they seized a total of 21 sachets of shabu worth P100,000 from the three suspects.

The suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation at the corner of M. H. Del Pilar and Quintos streets in Malate at past 5 a.m.

Tangdol said Ylagan has been on AWOL since 2014. He said Ylagan is known as "Boss" by other drug suspects.

Ylagan was assigned at the National Capital Region Police Office's Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.

Ylagan has denied that he is involved in drugs.

The suspects are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. —ALG, GMA News
