21-year-old girl claims Grab driver harassed her during ride home

A 21-year-old passenger has complained that a Grab driver made inappropriate gestures during her ride home to Antipolo City earlier this week.

In a 24 Oras report, the passenger who declined to be identified said that she booked the Grab ride from a mall in Ortigas Center on April 26 at 7:49 p.m..

She identified the Grab driver as Luis Castro Pangilinan.

She said took the front seat next to the passenger.

The passenger said that Pangilinan started a conversation with her and joked a little, but his questions became more personal. She said the driver asked her if she already has a boyfriend.

The passenger said the driver touched her chin and teased her to smile.

"Naano na ako, bakit siya ganun? Hindi naman dapat ganun ang normal na driver sa pasahero niya," the passenger said.

She also claimed that Pangilinan tried to touch her chest.

"Umilag na lang ako nang umilag. Hindi ako makababa, umaandar iyong sasakyan," she said.

She said that while being harassed by the driver, she alerted her friends to wait for her in a bakeshop in their area.

In a video shared by the passenger to GMA News, her friends were seen talking with the driver and repeatedly asked Pangilinan about the supposed harassment.

The driver repeatedly denied harassing his passenger.

"Hindi ko siya hinihipuan. kinakaibigan ko lang din kasi siyempre ano...," Pangilinan said.

The girl can be heard from the background crying. She said she was traumatized because of the incident.

The girl said she and her friends went to the Antipolo City Police Station to file a blotter of the incident, but the policeman on duty allegedly asked them for additional details of the driver.

She said they had already contacted Grab, which replied that Pangilinan had been banned.

The driver has not replied to GMA News' request for statement. —report from Jaime Santos/ALG, GMA News
