Kadamay seeks ‘entry passes’ for their housing units in Bulacan

Members of the Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay) on Tuesday launched a protest action in front of the National Housing Authority (NHA) office in Balagtas, Bulacan.

According to a News To Go report by Oscar Oida, Kadamay members, in their "Homeless March," were asking for entry passes for the housing units that they are occupying in Pandi town.

Kadamay members lamented that they have been staying in the housing units for a year, however, they have yet to be given their respective entry passes.

They said the entry passes would serve as an access for their students to go to school, acquire medical assistance, apply jobs, exercise their right to vote, and get water and electricity supply.

Meanwhile, NHA spokesperson Elsie Trinidad said they were ready to award the entry passes provided that Kadamay members will sign a contract which notes that the latter will pay for the housing sites.

Kadamay, however, insisted to have a general assembly first with the NHA before the contract signing. — Anna Felicia Bajo/MDM, GMA News
