1 of 2 persons of interest in Ombudsman prosecutor slay now a suspect

Police on Tuesday said one of the two persons of interest in the killing of Assistant Special Prosecutor Madonna Joy Ednaco-Tanyag is now considered a suspect, according to a report by Allan Gatus on Dobol B sa News TV.

The report identified the suspect as Angelito Avenido.

Recovered from Avenido were some of the victim's personal belongings.

Avenido will be presented before the media before noon on Tuesday in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

Tanyag, who was pregnant, was stabbed three times along Visayas Avenue in Quezon City on Monday.

Police have earlier said they are looking into robbery as the motive for the stabbing.

Tanyag, 33, was stabbed to death after attending a hearing at the Sandiganbayan. She bought milk tea from a store and was about to board her vehicle when the suspect attacked her. —KBK, GMA News
