14 hurt in EDSA accident involving 2 buses, car

At least 14 people were hurt in a road accident on EDSA on Tuesday morning involving two passenger buses and a private car, according to GMA News' Bam Alegre in his report on Unang Balita.

Citing the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the report said the number of injured could reach up to 20 as both buses were full of passengers at the time of the incident.

All the casualties who suffered only minor injuries were brought to a hospital for treatment.

The accident — which caused heavy traffic that motorists were advised to take alternate routes — took place on the southbound lane of EDSA Magallanes.

Initial report said one of the buses lost control after emerging from the tunnel and rammed the other bus, which hit the rear of the car and a concrete wall. —KBK, GMA News
