Foreign protester heckles trans woman as LGBTs, anti-gay group face off at Pride March

Members of the LGBT community and attendees of the 2018 Metro Manila Pride March and Festival on Saturday faced off against an anti-LGBT group that countered their protest in Marikina City.

As Pride protesters streamed out of the Marikina Sports Complex for the annual Pride March, they encountered the anti-LGBT group stationed by the gate.

Members of the group started pointing at the protesters, saying “God hates you.”

One of the anti-LGBT demonstrators — a foreigner — verbally harassed a trans woman who was waiting outside with her friend.

"You're still a man. One hundred percent man," he shouted at the trans woman.

Protesters surrounded the group and one by one started to come forward and strike poses, to the delight of their fellow protesters.

Some yelled back insults as well.

One of the protesters, who introduced himself as Amadeus, silently stood by and showed off his sign which read “You can’t choose to like a dick but you can choose to be one.”

He said that his sign was perfect for the anti-LGBT group who attended the Pride March just to counter their protest. — MDM, GMA News
