Man busted with P47.6-M suspected shabu in Manila

Authorities on Thursday seized around 7 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P47.6 million from a 29-year-old drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in San Andres Bukid, Manila.

Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Albayalde identified the suspect as Joshir Bernardo, who was arrested at around 4 a.m. at Barangay 779 Zone 57 in San Andres Bukid, Manila.

The buy-bust operation was launched by the joint elements of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of the National Capital Region Police Office and Manila Police District - Police Station 6 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency - National Capital Region.

The operatives also seized a cellular phone and one Nissan Cefiro which was used in the delivery of the illegal drugs.

The recovered shabu and evidence were brought to the Crime Laboratory for further examination.

Bernardo, according to Albayalde, is also associated with a drug group of a suspected drug lord identified as Loloy Hernandez, who is currently detained at the Taguig City Jail.

The drug group allegedly operates in Metro Manila and Calabarzon, said Albayalde.

Bernardo will face charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — MDM, GMA News
