Valenzuela integrated bus terminal to free EDSA of north-bound buses

The Valenzuela Gateway Complex Central Integrated Terminal, which was expected to free EDSA of provincial buses traveling to northern Luzon, was opened on Friday.

GMA 7 news program "24 Oras" reported that Special Operations Task Force commander Bong Nebrija and other Metro Manila Development Authority officials inspected the terminal, which would be used by some 298 buses by August 15.

"Kaya po ini-inspect ito para makita natin na ang pasilidad ay kumpleto para sa ating pasahero," Nebrija explained.

Starting August 15, buses coming from Bulacan, Pampanga, and Bataan would not be allowed to enter EDSA. Some 2,276 buses from the north use EDSA.

Passengers can also ride tricycles and jeepneys from and to the integrated terminal.

The MMDA had also asked the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to authorize bused plying the Alabang and Baclaran routes to use the terminal. — Margaret Claire Layug/DVM, GMA News
