'Crazy yellow Kia driver' nabbed for possession of 'shabu' —police

The female driver of a yellow Kia Picanto, who was caught on a viral video in a tiff with traffic authorities in Makati City in 2016, was arrested on Sunday for possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

A report obtained from Makati City police chief Senior Superintendent Rogelio Simon identified the suspect as Jamie Camille Brojan, 29, resident of Barangay Wack Wack, Mandaluyong City.

An initial police investigation showed that Brojan boarded the taxi of a certain Alex Novilla at Times Bar in Makati City.

On their way to Bonifacio Global City, Brojan vomited and passed out, prompting Novilla to bring her to the Bantay Bayan headquarters at Poblacion Makati.

Authorities then returned to Times Bar to get Brojan's belongings. But they found inside her bag one sachet containing suspected shabu, two pieces of glass tube pipe, and one piece foil strip with residue.

The case was already turned over to Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) for investigation and disposition.

Brojan was supposedly involved in an incident in which she had hurt four security guards and damaged vehicles in an attempt to escape from an illegal parking violation at Rockwell Center in November 2016.

She was brought to Makati Police Station 6, but she was eventually released after she promised to pay for the medical treatment of the wounded individuals and repair of the damaged vehicles. —Anna Felicia Bajo/LBG, GMA News
