Weed smokers who cursed Duterte in viral video surrender; told to eat marijuana

Six of the seven young men who appeared to be smoking marijuana in a video that has since gone viral have surrendered to the Malabon City police.

In a series of tweets by GMA News' Cedric Castillo, the men also apologized to President Rodrigo Duterte whom they mocked and threw invectives at in the video.

Duterte's top aide Bong Go took notice of the video and said Duterte would make the men eat the stash of marijuana they showed in the video.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, meanwhile, said he was not aware of the video even as he called out the actions of young men.

"They’re never allowed to do that [smoking marijuana]. If we could find out where they are, then they will be put in proper custody of individuals who will provide them necessary services," Roque said at a news conference.

The video that went viral was supposedly posted as early as 2016, when all but one of them were 18 years old. One was 16 at the time.
