Over P500-M worth of suspected shabu seized at Pasay condo

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided a condominium unit in Pasay City that is allegedly used as a shabu laboratory, James Agustin reported on Saksi.

About half a billion pesos worth of suspected shabu was confiscated during the raid.

When the PDEA team entered a unit on the 16th floor of the building, they found 10 kilos of suspected liquid shabu inside a plastic container.

The team also found about 70 kilos of suspected high grade shabu was discovered inside a suitcase.

The haul was already intended to be delivered, PDEA said.

A total of 80 kilos of illegal drugs were discovered during the raid, with a street value of P544 million.

Earlier, five Hong Kong residents were arrested in three separate buy bust operations in Manila and Parañaque.

The suspects were allegedly the operators of the shabu laboratory and two of them are in-charge of preparing the illegal drugs.

According to the PDEA, the suspects are members of the 14K international drug syndicate that operates in China and Hong Kong.

"Kung makikita niyo itong dalwang nasa gitna, these are Chinese chemists. Sila po ang nagluluto ng drugs dito sa particular unit sa condominium na ito. Ang the other two Chinese nationals are the one facilitating or handlers of these chemists," said PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino. — BAP, GMA News
