Parañaque ‘landport’ to reduce buses plying in Metro Manila’s major roads —DOTr

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Tuesday that the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) will reduce the number of provincial buses plying along EDSA-Taft, Pasay, and Roxas Boulevard.

Full-blown operation of the newly-inaugurated PITX is expected to start next week.

Dubbed as the country’s first “landport,” PITX is located along Coastal Road in Parañaque.

“The PITX is expected to reduce the number of provincial buses plying Metro Manila, specifically along Roxas Boulevard, Pasay, and EDSA-Taft area once operational, the DOTr said.

“The state-of-the-art landport will provide connectivity between different transport modes and services, allowing efficient and seamless travel for the riding public,” it said.

No terminal fees will be collected from passengers.

On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte inaugurated the PITX.

“I am impressed. I am proud na ginawa nila itong magandang structure. It will serve the Filipino and that is what is very important to me,” Duterte said. —Dona Magsino/VDS, GMA News
