COVID-19 cases in Quezon City reach 1,042


The number of confirmed coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) cases in Quezon City climbed to 1,042 on Saturday night, up by 26 from the 1,016 total cases reported on April 17.

Of this number, 862 have been confirmed to have complete addresses in Quezon City.

Meanwhile, the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices have validated 697 cases.

Four new recoveries were reported as of Saturday at 7 p.m., bringing the total number of recoveries to 87.

The death toll on the other hand, stood at 90, same as the April 17 figure since no new deaths were reported.

 

Three more barangays were added to the list of areas placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine.

The QC government also said its temporary quarantine facility HOPE 1 facility has already reached full capacity as it is caring for confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients.

Meanwhile, its other facility HOPE 2 facility, which has 215 rooms/beds, still has 105 beds available for use. As of Saturday night, confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients are housed in 110 rooms/beds. The government said those who have taken the COVID-19 test in the city's community-based testing area are brought to HOPE 2 for self-isolation while test results have yet to be released.

As of Saturday, more than 30,000 drivers of pedicabs, tricycles, jeepneys, AUVs, taxis and TNVS, as well as market vendors and solo parents have been given financial assistance through the Kalingang QC program.

As for quarantine violators, the total number of apprehended violators reached 153 as of 5 p.m. on Saturday, the local government said. —KG, GMA News
