Chavit's daughter talks about carnap of SUV

MANILA, Philippines - The daughter of former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson, whose Sports Utility Vehicle was stolen Sunday morning, on Monday said that her companion shielded her from the gun-toting robbers. "Buti na lang, my friend, he pulled me out of the car, covered me with his whole body. He put me down on the ground, he protected me. Pero tinutukan kami ng guy, nang isa. Then right after that, umalis na sila,"Kimberly told QTV's News on Q Monday. Her driver, identified in the report as Teresito Brillosa, was not as fortunate. His face was smashed with the butt of a rifle when he tried to ward off the car thieves, who had balaclavas and were armed with baby armalites. He is undergoing treatment. Earlier reports said that the drive was waiting for Singson inside her black Toyota Fortuner (ZLY 910) in front of the Jollibee branch at the corner of Scout De Guia and Tomas Morato Avenue around 6:20 a.m. when the three men struck. Singson said that the incident was "sobrang bilis" as it only took about 30 seconds. The victim's father, a close of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, has offered a P100,000 reward for information which could lead to the arrest of the suspects recovery of the vehicle while Philippine National Police Director General Avelino Razon order the Highway Patrol Group to track down the car thieves. - GMANews.TV
