Arroyo inaugurates NAIA expressway before leaving for Korea


MANILA, Philippines — Before leaving for Korea, President Arroyo inaugurated Saturday morning a new expressway linking roads leading to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and domestic airport. Government-run dzRB radio reported the P1-billion expressway, running 1.5 to 2 kilometers, will mainly benefit those coming from Pasay, Taguig and Makati Cities. The NAIA Expressway Flyover connects the existing Metro Manila Skyway and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) with the NAIA Passenger Terminals via elevated roadway or viaducts. It is expected to down travel time to the NAIA from Alabang, Makati and towns/cities north or south of Metro Manila and will greatly benefit frequent travelers, overseas Filipino workers, businessmen and even local and foreign tourists using both international and domestic airports. Class 1 (four-wheeled) vehicles will pay P85, while Class 2 vehicles (vans and pickups) will pay P170. - GMANews.TV
