Son of Palace exec killed in QC shooting incident

The son of a Malacañang official died Wednesday night after a still unidentified man fired several gunshots at him while he was aboard his vehicle. GMA News’ Oscar Oida reported on Unang Hirit that 27-year-old Renato Ebarle Jr.’s Toyota Land Cruiser was on Boni Serrano Avenue (formerly Santolan Road) in Barangay (village) Valencia in Quezon City, when a foreign-looking man alighted from a blue van and fired at Ebarle. The incident occurred about 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to initial police investigation. The victim, son of Presidential Chief of Staff Undersecretary Renato Ebarle Sr., sustained several gunshot wounds.

Superintendent Ferdinand Ampil, station commander of the Quezon City Police District’s Station 7, said a traffic altercation is one of the possible motives behind the shooting. “Malayo pa lang ay nagkaka-gitgitan na ," Ampil said. However, the report quoted Ampil as saying that they are exploring other angles behind the younger Ebarle’s killing. - GMANews.TV
