Quiboloy endorses Gibo, says admin bet chosen by ‘Father’

(Updated 9:08 p.m.) Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, founder of the religious group Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC), has formally endorsed the candidacy of administration standard-bearer Gilberto “Gibo" Teodoro Jr.
Who is Pastor Q?
To ordinary people, he might just be a multimedia preacher, but to his flock of six million all over the world, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is the Appointed Son of God. Quiboloy, or “Pastor Q" to his followers based mostly in Davao City, is the founder and leader of the religious organization Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC). The group, which claims membership in other continents such as North America, Africa and Europe, has a total of three million registered voters in the upcoming polls. The KJC tries to reach its supposed six million members all over the world through the Sonshine Media Network International, which includes a broadcast network (ACQ Kingdom Broadcasting Network), a radio station (Sonshine Radio), and print publications (Pinas Newspaper, Sikat Newspaper, and Guide Magazine). Besides the KJC’s head, Quiboloy also manages a number of charitable institutions providing assistance to children, the handicapped, and the needy, through the Sonshine Philippines Movement. “Tonight let it be known, and to all Filipinos, that the Almighty Father has appointed the president for this nation, he is no other than Gilbert 'Gibo' Teodoro," Quiboloy said during the group’s annual Thanksgiving and Worship concert at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ: The Name Above Every Name compound in Catitipan, Davao City. The concert was beamed live worldwide over the group’s Sonshine Media Network. The kingdom’s members erupted in wild cheers as Quiboloy endorsed Teodoro as the best president to lead the country in the next six years. “With this proclamation, I may either sink or swim, but I know this decision is best for the nation," Quiboloy said. Quiboloy was supposed to identify the presidential bet whom he would endorse last April 25, his 60th birthday, but deferred it to May 2 because the “Divine revelation wasn’t yet clear at the time." A KJC statement released Saturday said Quiboloy, considered by his followers as the "appointed son of God," has been having “sleepless nights praying to the Father for a clear and direct answer" regarding whom he should support in the May 10 elections. A report by Ruth Cabal in GMA News' "24 Oras" said Teodoro, a former Defense secretary, was spotted in the venue of the KJC gathering. Quiboloy’s congregation boasts of six million followers from all over the world, and has an estimated three million registered voters for the upcoming polls, according to the statement. Teodoro has been ranking 4th in various presidential preference surveys. Other presidential aspirants, as well as candidates for vice president and senator, had visited Quiboloy in Davao City to get his support. In a speech before the group’s members, Teodoro thanked Quiboloy for the endorsement. He likewise exhorted the public to vote conscientiously, adding that the coming elections are not just about his fate but the fate of the country as well. “I am thankful to our beloved pastor [for this anointment]," Teodor said when he took the stage. - KBK, GMANews.TV
