Report: 4 killed, 1 hurt in elevator crash in Quezon City


Four workers were killed while another was hurt after an elevator fell several stories at a construction site in Quezon City late Friday. According to a dzBB Saturday-morning report, strong winds caused the elevator carrying the victims to collapse and fall to the ground. The fatalities were initially identified as Leo Rivas, Gilbert Leonardo, Joey Dellosa and Gabriel Rioso. A separate report on dzXL radio identified the injured as Carlos Lanuan. Initial investigation showed that strong winds accompanying the rains last Friday night caused the elevator to collapse. The victims were working on a building at 137 West Avenue. They were rushed to the Quezon City General Hospital, but four of them succumbed to their injuries. — LBG, GMANews.TV
