Trillanes ‘most handsome’ senator, says Miriam

In the eyes of Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV is the "most handsome" senator in the 15th Congress. Santiago said this after Trillanes, a former Navy officer who was incarcerated for seven years for involvement in failed attempts to overthrow the Arroyo administration, delivered a speech on Wednesday. "Therefore, I declare for the record, that I find him to be the most handsome of the senators standing in the House today," said Santiago as shown in a report on GMA News' "24 Oras.

"But, may I humbly propose that he would look even better if he attempted to smile once in a while, while he is addressing his colleagues," added Santiago, who is known for her sharp comments on issues and even personalities. Trillanes was then delivering his sponsorship speech of Senate Bill No. 2671 or “the Act Strengthening the Career Executive System" at the plenary. Trillanes, the first senator to be elected while in detention, was granted provisional liberty in December last year under the custody of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile. The Department of National Defense last month approved his amnesty application. - KBK, GMANews.TV
