PUP starts 'black and white Friday' movement for slain VP


The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) on Friday started a "Black and White Friday" movement to seek justice for murdered vice president for administration Augustus Cezar. Radio dzBB's Cecilia Villarosa reported that PUPU students, faculty, and employees were urged to wear black or white outfits to mourn the death of Cezar, who was gunned down by motorcycle-riding men in Sta. Mesa, Manila on Wednesday. The report quoted the organizers as saying that while black symbolizes mourning while white symbolizes truth and the call for justice. Cezar's remains lie in state at the PUP's interfaith church.

Meanwhile, the dzBB report said the police are verifying information that Cezar received death threats shortly before he was gunned down.
