Police start watching cemeteries, ports ahead of All Saints Day

With the All Saints' Day just two weeks away, police have started keeping watch over cemeteries and transportation terminals. A report on radio dzBB Saturday said that while police are still on normal alert, they have started patrolling bus terminals, seaports and airports. The report said the Philippine National Police is not discounting the possibility many people from the provinces would arrive in Manila early. Police also expect public areas including supermarkets, shopping malls and commercial establishments to be crowded in the days leading to the All Saints’ Day holidays. On the other hand, police are bracing for the yearly All Saints' Day exodus to the provinces especially on the weekend before the occasion. For this year, Filipinos can look forward to a long weekend starting Oct. 29, after Malacañang declared Oct. 31, Monday, a non-working day.
